One of the most competitive teams in the Swan 45 Class will not be missing from the fleet at the 27th edition of the Copa del Rey, a fixture on the Mediterranean racing calendar. DSK-Comifin, owned and helmed by Danilo Salsi, will in fact be on the start line among the 16 Swan 45s taking part in this prestigious regatta, the second event on the Swan 45 International Circuit.

For the first time, American Chris Larson will be calling tactics onboard DSK-Comifin. Team Manager and mainsail trimmer Andrea Casale said, “Even if we won’t have a great deal of time to train with Chris prior to the regatta, we are confident that we will work well together. In addition to understanding the dynamics of the Swan 45, Chris was the tactician onboard Swan 45 Plenty when they won the Swan 45 Worlds in Cowes in 2007.”

Organised by the Royal Club Nautico Palma, the Copa del Rey is an event that eloquently combines high level racing with a dynamic social programme. The event has gone from strength to strength to become one of the most important international regattas for professional and amateur sailors.

From 26 July to 2 August, more than 110 teams are expected to gather in Palma, representing 14 nations. On the water, the fleet will be divided into the following classes: Swan 45, TP 52, GP 42, ORC 670, X 35 and IRC.

Following on from their second overall at the Sardinia Rolex Cup, the DSK Sailing team is well prepared for the Copa del Rey, the penultimate event before the Swan 45 Worlds which will take place from 8-14 September in Porto Cervo.

Onboard DSK-Comifin will be: Danilo Salsi (helmsman), Chris Larson (tactician), Andrea Casale (main), Vittorio Rosso (trimmer), Riccardo de Magistris (pit), Max Cavallo (mast), Paolo Persi, Stefano Gerardi (bow), Saverio Cigliano (bow), Nuno Barreto (trimmer), Luca Faravelli e Francesco Farnetti.
