NotesMUTINEER – 50ft Wooden Cutter-Rigged Ketch – Centre Cockpit - 2nd to 10th August 2008 Work and family commitments have made it difficult to plan our short summer cruise well in advance this year. We will be leaving Portsmouth on the morning of Saturday 2nd August, returning on the afternoon of Sunday 10th August (9 days total). Myself and my regular sailing partner, plus our respective sons (14 and 11), are already committed. This means that I have 2 berths available for anyone wanting to join us. Another father/son or father/daughter combination would be ideal. Our plan is broadly as follows: · Portsmouth – L’Aberwr’ach (NW Brittany) at the far western end of the Channel. This will likely be a non-stop trip to get as far west as possible, quickly. · Possibly south through Chenal du Four to Brest area (time allowing) · Isle D’Ouessant (Ushant) – major landmark, long-held objective, usually sail past! · Return cross-Channel to Scilly Isles (probably Tresco) · Make way back to Portsmouth with intermediate stops along SW coast This plan will of course be adjusted according to crew preference, weather conditions and wind direction, to ensure we are back on 10/8 and have enjoyed ourselves. If you would like to join us, please drop me an email or give me a call. Probably best to email as I will be travelling abroad for most of the next week.
